There was once a man who dropped his entire life to follow Jesus and was not even catholic but he believed in Jesus. Saint Matthew used to be a tax collector and everyone hated him, he was just doing his job. He wasn't trying to make anyone mad at him. After Jesus died he was the First author to write the new gospel. He also spent lots of time in Ethiopia preaching of the word of the lord until he died in 74 AD. He became a saint because he was an apostle who did what Jesus asked and wrote the new gospel which is really cool. He is so inspirational because he was a tax collector who got no respect and was made fun of but he still wanted to follow Jesus to free all the peoples. I also think that it is really cool that he was the first author to write the new Gospel.
He was such a brave man. He preached the name of God even when the town members treated him like dirt. No matter what he always stood behind Jesus. Matthew trusted Jesus with his life even in the end, that shows how good of a man he was that if Jesus told him to jump off a cliff and that he would not die, Matthew wouldn't even think twice about it, and to me that's really inspirational.
In my opinion Matthew should Wonder and awe the most out of any of the gifts this is what the website said “Matthew used the gift of Wonder and Awe by changing his ways and converting to Christianity so he could follow, believe and worship Jesus and God. “ This shows that Matthew knew that God sent Jesus and that God wanted him to follow Jesus. It takes guts to do what he did but yet he just went and did it which is remarkable.
We can learn so many different things from st Matthew. For one thing he knew not to just go with the flow and to do what's right and follow Jesus. Also we can learn how to put complete trust into someone which is a great quality to have. Saint Matthew was truly an inspiration to all in so many ways and I just wanted to inform everyone on how awesome he was and genius and about everything good.
